The Idea 11. Juni 2005
At the QUEERS WITHOUST BORDERS WORKSHOP at Queeruption, Barcelona. (See dunst abroad for Queeruption) there was talk about an INTERNATIONAL ACTION on the day of the BANNED GAY PRIDE in Warsaw. The day is THIS SATURDAY (june 11th). We suggest that we go for it saturday at 2 pm!

The idea is that in front of as many Polish embassys as possible we will make small gay prides to show our awareness and concern. We are not aming for big demonstrations, but rather small groups of dressed up people, as we believe the humor and and oddness will give more attention.

We suggest that we all use the slogan "GAY RIGHTS = HUMAN RIGHTS" on a banner or sign. And also that everyone make sure to TAKE PICTURES, which we would then gather on a web site and send the link to the Polish organisations.

Send this Letter to the ambassy of the republic of Poland to the Polish embassy where you are, so they know what is going on. Meanwhile please let us know if you plan on participating, as we would like to know how far it will spread. But don't hessitate, five people is really enough at each embassy.

Last year we did a similar event in front of the Serbian embassy in Copenhagen, which hit the mainstream media in Serbia, and which we learned during Queeruption, people are still talking about.
